Am I covered to take my driving test in my car?
Yes you are covered to take the test. However as soon as you pass your learner driver policy will stop and it will not cover you to drive your vehicle home. Please see the question 'What happens when I pass my driving test'.
What happens when I pass my driving test?
Once you pass your driving test all cover stops and you must purchase separate motor insurance to continue driving the car. You cannot drive home from the test centre under this policy. This policy does extend to cover the person supervising you to drive the insured vehicle for a specific journey after you have successfully completed your practical driving test.
What happens if I turn 22 during the period of cover?
Provided you are 21 or under at the inception of the cover then that is acceptable.
Can more than one learner driver be insured on the same car?
The policy only covers you as the named driver. However each learner driver can have their own policy and practise in the same car.

I will be using my parent's car and they have motor insurance on the vehicle, by me taking out my own insurance is this not dual insurance?
It won't affect your parent's motor insurance at all! Our policy is a temporary risk policy on the learner driver. Dual Insurance occurs when, in the case of insurance against loss or damage, the same items are insured against a certain risk under more than one insurance policy. Cover is only provided under our policy for drivers who hold a provisional UK licence and are not named in the main insurance policy covering the vehicle.
One of the benefits of me getting my own insurance means I won't affect the No claims discount of the vehicle owner. What does that mean?
A no claims discount (NCD), or no claims bonus, is a count of the number of years in which someone hasn't made a claim on their car insurance policy.
It's worth varies from insurer to insurer, but an NCD of five years or more, for example, could give someone 60-75% discount on their motor insurance premium. If you were insured on their policy as a learner driver and had an accident you would affect that persons NCD and possibly future discounts on their premium.
Will you insure me if I have any driving convictions?
Will you insure me if I have had a previous accident or claim?
Will you insure me if I have a previous or pending criminal conviction?
Will you insure me if I have modified the vehicle in any way (including wheels, Suspension, engine or bodywork).
Am I covered to drive at any time day or night?
Yes provided you are accompanied by qualified driver sitting next to you aged over 25 and holding a full UK driving licence for a minimum of 3 years and has been a UK resident for a minimum of 2 years and does not have a DR coded motoring conviction (for Drink or Drugs offences) endorsed on their driving licence within the past 5 years.
